Hidden Truths Project’s (HTP) annual art exhibit and fundraiser for epilepsy research is now in its 6th year and taking a fresh approach.  In 2017, Hidden Truths, the Mind Unraveled has become, 1:26 The Art of Epilepsy.  1 in 26 individuals will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. Despite the many advances in the field of epilepsy, this oft-hidden disability is wrought with misconceptions leading to stigmatization of those living with this condition.  The focus of the event remains to raise awareness of epilepsy, to educate the general populace on the truths of this condition, to abolish the barriers and stigma associated with this diagnosis, and to accelerate development of therapy options for people living with the challenges of epilepsy.

The 2017, 1:26 The Art of Epilepsy will be held at InVision in Newport Beach, California on September 16.  Hidden Truths Project is extremely pleased to announce this year’s beneficiary will be CURE| Citizens United in Research in Epilepsy.  CURE’s mission is to cure epilepsy; to transform and save millions of lives through the funding of cutting-edge research, challenging scientists across the globe to collaborate in pursuit of this goal. CURE’s dedication to research, raising awareness about the prevalence and devastation of the disease, and collaborative spirit aligns with the HTP goals in support of this annual event.

Art has become a bridge to unite people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, political and religious beliefs to create understanding surrounding the mysteries of this condition.
